Sat's (Scholastic Assessment Test)
In order to get into Texas Tech you must take the SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) which is a test that measures how well students can think critically the same way that they would have to in college. It has three sections, math, writing and critical reading. To prepare for the SAT and the ACT you could think about getting a tutor which is $2,499 if it is done in your test masters office, $2,499 if it is done live online, and $3,499 if it is done at the students house. It can also help to do free practice tests. After you take the test you have to wait three to six weeks to get your score back by mail. The highest score that you can get on the SAT is a 2400. The highest score that you can get on the ACT is a 36. For the grade point average from high school to get into Texas tech you need a 2.25 to a 2.50 or higher.

Scoring
Scoring of the SAT is done in two ways: scaled and raw. The raw score is a list of questions that were answered correctly and incorrectly. The testers each get one point for every question answered correctly and if the testers answer a multiple choice question wrong they get 1/4, 1/3, or 1/2 point deducted. The scaled scoring normalizes for the different forms of the test taken by different testers.
